SS 11 Great War Unit Test - THURS/FRI

Hi everyone,

some tips to help you prepare for your test Thurs/Fri...

1) Make sure that you have read all of Chapter 2 in your student workbook. You do not have to have read anything in Counterpoints

2) Be familiar with all bolded words throughout the chapter

3) Be able to chronologically indentify the order that major events/battles took place in

4) In your essay, you MUST incorporate 8+ vocab words (the bolded black words) located throughout the chapter into your essay. These words must be underlined in your essay before I will accept your test being handed in.

5) This is to reward all you faithful blog followers who have diligently checking the blog for your home work...your essay topics will be one of the following selections. Only one of the two options will be there on your actual test, so you need to be prepared to write on either of the options. You absolutely should plan ahead and select which vocab words you will be using in your essay if you were to receive that particular essay question. I will have higher expectations as to the overall quality of your essay because of the fact that you have been told the questions in advance.

11 A

option 1
What effect did the war have on the status and role of women, both at home and overseas?

option 2
Did the war have a positive or negative effect on Canada?

11B

option 1
How did the changing nature of warfare and technology contribute to a war of attrition?

option 2
What factors were responsible for contributing to Canada's emerging sense of national identity and autonomy?

***Note- Block 11 A and Block 11 B's unit tests will not be the same***
